convert
Convert an amount between two currencies. Returns the converted amount and the rate.
Parameters:
amount
(number, required): The amount to convert.
from
(string, required): Three-letter base ISO currency code (e.g. USD
).
to
(string, required): Three-letter target ISO currency code (e.g. EUR
).
date
(string, optional): A specific date YYYY-MM-DD
for historical conversion.
provider
(string, optional): A provider key, for one institution's published rate instead of the blend. UST
is the U.S. Treasury's quarterly reporting rate; a date inside the quarter returns the rate in force.

Frankfurter is a free exchange rates API for 223 currencies from 105 central banks and official sources. Rates update daily and go back to 1948.
The public API lives at api.frankfurter.dev. You don't need an API key. The project is open source, so you can also self-host for full control.
